This Privacy Policy explains how Tiny Pond Pty Ltd handles information when you use Puddle.

Our approach

Puddle is designed to help you organise your personal life. We aim to collect as little information as reasonably necessary to provide the app.

This version of Puddle is a local-first, offline app. It does not use Puddle accounts, login, a Puddle backend, cloud storage, cloud backup or cloud synchronisation.

Information you put into Puddle

Depending on the features you use, Puddle may contain information you choose to enter, such as:

your name and profile information;
profile photos you choose to add;
tasks and reminders;
routines;
lists and list items;
goals;
journal entries;
information about people and pets you create Profiles for;
birthdays and important dates;
Profile notes and gift ideas;
work roster information;
bills, expenses, participants and settlements;
preferences and app settings; and
other information you choose to enter.

Information stored on your device

In this version of Puddle, personal content you enter into the app is stored locally on your device using Puddle’s on-device storage.

Tiny Pond Pty Ltd does not intentionally receive this locally stored content simply because you enter it into Puddle.

Puddle’s in-app Calendar, rosters and bills stay inside Puddle. This version does not access your device calendar, contacts or location.

Photos

You may optionally choose a photo from your photo library for a Profile.

Puddle asks for photo library access when you choose to add or change a Profile photo. It does not ask for this permission just because the app has been opened.

The selected image is stored with your other local Puddle data and is used to display that Profile. In this version, Tiny Pond does not upload Profile photos to its servers, because Puddle has no cloud or backend service.

On some older Android versions, choosing a photo may also involve the device’s storage or media permission so Puddle can read the image you select.

Notifications

If you choose to use reminders, Puddle can schedule local notifications on your device for things such as tasks, routines, birthdays and bills.

Notification permission is optional. Puddle continues to work if you decline it, except that those reminders will not be delivered. You can change notification permission in your device settings.

Local reminders are stored and delivered by your device. Tiny Pond does not collect the content of those notifications.

Permissions Puddle does not use

This version of Puddle is not set up to access your location, contacts, microphone, camera, or device calendar.

Information about other people

Puddle allows you to create Profiles and record information about people in your life.

This information may include names, photos, birthdays, notes, roster information and participation in shared expenses.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate reason or permission to store information about another person.

Analytics, crash reporting and advertising

This version of Puddle does not use developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting services to collect Puddle usage or Puddle content.

Puddle does not contain advertising in this version. Tiny Pond does not sell Puddle user content for advertising purposes.

Your operating system, device, or the App Store or Google Play may process technical information in ways Tiny Pond does not control. This policy describes Tiny Pond’s own practices for Puddle.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

If you choose to email support, that message is sent through your own mail app to Tiny Pond. Puddle does not otherwise send your planning content to Tiny Pond.

Security

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the nature of Puddle to protect information handled by the app.

No device, software or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

You are also responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your device.

Data retention and deletion

There is no Puddle account and no Puddle cloud copy of your content in this version.

Puddle data remains locally on your device until you delete it through available app functionality, clear Puddle’s data, or uninstall the app, subject to your device and operating system’s own behaviour.

Puddle currently does not provide cloud backup or synchronisation. Tiny Pond cannot recover your Puddle data after uninstall, data clearing, or device loss.

Children

Puddle is a general-purpose personal organisation application and is not specifically directed at children.

Your choices

You can choose which Puddle features you use and which information you enter.

Device permissions such as notifications and photo library access can be controlled through your device settings.

Where available, information can also be edited or deleted within Puddle.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Puddle's features or data practices change.

The current policy will display its effective date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
